Hopkins LLC regularly counsels clients who appear before municipal planning boards, boards of adjustment and governing bodies in connection with planning, zoning and land use matters. As a former in-house counsel to a large national developer, the firm's principal, Christopher Hopkins is skilled in handling all types of planning and zoning matters including all aspects of redevelopment, site plan and subdivision applications, rezoning and appeals of zoning variances and permits to municipal governing bodies.

The firm represents contractors and developers in the procurement of all governmental approvals or entitlements necessary for residential, commercial and mixed use projects including, but not limited to: soil disturbance permits; discharge permits; treatment works approvals; sewer service area designations; DOT approvals; wetlands delineation and permitting; stream encroachment permits; water allocation permits; Highlands, Pinelands and Meadowlands approvals; CAFRA approval, and all necessary environmental approvals. In addition, the firm also counsels clients who oppose municipal efforts to rezone their property or nearby property along with clients who are seeking a zone change. While the firm always seeks to resolve land use issues expeditiously and economically, it is also well versed representing clients before County Construction Boards of Appeal as well as in court.
