June 25 2012 - Toll Brothers Settles Suit Alleging CWA Violations
Toll Brothers Inc. reportedly struck a $741,000 settlement with federal prosecutors and the states of Maryland and Virginia over alleged repeat violations of the Clean Water Act.
The federal government brought suit against Toll Brothers with the environmental suit alleging more than 600 violations of storm water discharge permits issued under the CWA at 14 Toll Brothers-owned sites between 2003 and 2009. The homebuilder's activities allegedly resulted in the contamination of at least five acres at each of the 14 sites
Plaintiffs filed notice of the consent decree signed by the parties. The proposed settlement is for roughly $741,000.
